Fatality on KY 132 Involving Motorcyclist

Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a single-vehicle, fatality-collision that occurred on KY 132, approximately 13 miles east of Marion, near the Crittenden and Webster County line, on Wednesday, November 4, at 8:20 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Robert A. Topp, 60, Marion, KY, was operating a 1999 Victory motorcycle westbound on KY 132 when he lost control. The motorcycle slid across both lanes of travel and exited the left side of the roadway. As it traveled down an earthen embankment, Mr. Topp was ejected.

Mr. Topp was flown from the scene to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN where he succumbed to his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

Trooper First Class Darron Holliman is investigating the collision. The Clay Volunteer Fire Department, Crittenden County EMS, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
