25 Mile Pursuit Leads to Two Arrest

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County)- On Friday October 9, 2015, at approximately 6:57 P.M., Trooper Billy Over attempted to stop a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped up and began to flee. Other Troopers from Post 2 were able to get in position and successfully deploy road spikes into the path of the fleeing vehicle. After hitting the road spikes, the vehicle continued to flee North on the Pennyrile Parkway until it failed to make a U-turn near the 42 mile marker. The driver of the vehicle, 30 year old Latasha Adamson of Providence, KY, and the only passenger, 27 year old Joshua Rheinlander of Evansville, IN, exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit, both subjects were arrested without any further incident and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. Adamson was charged with:

  1. Fleeing/Evading, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle) x2
  2. Fleeing/Evading, 1st Degree (On Foot)
  3. Speeding x2
  4. Criminal Mischief, 2nd Degree
  5. Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  6. Operating on a Suspended/revoked operator's license
  7. Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree
  8. Failure to give right of way to an Emergency Vehicle
  9. Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs, 1st Offense, Aggravated

Rheinlander was charged with:

  1. Outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear (Butler County)
  2. Fleeing/Evading, 1st Degree (On foot)
  3. Possession of Marijuana
  4. Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree
