Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 171

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on KY 171, approximately one mile south of Greenville, on Monday, August 17th, at 2:00 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Michael Lile, 23, Greenville, KY, was operating a 2003 Honda Accord northbound on KY 171 when the vehicles passenger side tires dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Lile overcorrected, crossing into the southbound lane, and exiting the roadway. The vehicle overturned, coming to final rest upright on the northbound shoulder of the roadway.

Mr. Lile, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.

Trooper First Class Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Greenville Police Department, Greenville Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
