Fatal Collision on US 60

Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a single vehicle, fatality collision that occurred on US 60 approximately one mile east of Marion, on Friday, June 5, at 8:32 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Dexter W Derr, 58, Strugis, KY, was operating a 2006 Mercedes passenger car eastbound on US 60 when for unknown reason it ran off the right side of the roadway striking a culvert and overturning an unknown number of times. The vehicle came to a final rest on the driver's side facing south.

The Crittenden County Coroner, Bradley Gilbert, pronounced Mr. Derr dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper First Class Darron Holliman is investigating the collision. Sergeant Brian Duvall, the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department, the Crittenden County EMS, the Crittenden County Rescue Squad, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and the Crittenden County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene.
