Single Vehicle Injury Collision on Paradise Road

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Paradise Road, approximately four miles east of Greenville, on Wednesday, May 27, at 8:30 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Justin Gibson, 16, Central City, was operating a 2000 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Paradise Road when he swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle exited the left shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Gibson overcorrected and the vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway. It traveled through a yard and struck a tree before coming to rest partially in the roadway.

Mr. Gibson and his passenger, Cody Schroader, 17, Drakesboro, were transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper Jon McGehee investigated the collision. Sergeant Brian Duvall, the Greenville Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
