Injury Collision on KY 139 N

Princeton, KY. (Caldwell County) – On Thursday, May 07, 2015, at approximately 1526 hours, the Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle collision on KY 139 N.

Gregory Riggs Jr., 19, of Princeton, KY was operating a 2006 Toyota Corolla northbound on KY 139 N. Cody Lowery, 17, of Fredonia, KY was a passenger in the vehicle. As Mr. Riggs vehicle exited a sharp right curve, he lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane of travel. Mr. Riggs vehicle then exited the southbound shoulder of the roadway into a drainage ditch. The impact of the collision caused Mr. Riggs vehicle to overturn onto its left side. Mr. Riggs vehicle came to final rest in a ditch resting on the left side of the vehicle facing south.

Gregory Riggs Jr. and Cody Lowery were transported by ambulance to Caldwell County Medical Center for injuries sustained as a result of the collision. The collision is under investigation by Trooper Ben Sawyer. Trooper Sawyer was assisted at the scene by Caldwell County Sheriff's Department, Caldwell County EMS, and Princeton Fire Department.
