Single Vehicle Injury Collision On KY 70

Browder, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 70, approximately seven miles east of Browder, on Wednesday, February 18, at 1:10 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Whitney Cardwell, 25, of Morgantown, KY, was operating a 1998 GMC Jimmy westbound on KY 70 when her vehicle struck a patch of ice/snow on the roadway. Ms. Cardwell overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and overturned. It came to rest on its top, off the roadway.

Ms. Cardwell and one of her passengers, Ashley Cardwell (sister), 24, of Morgantown, were transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. The other passenger, Ashley Hodge (male), 25, of Morgantown, was not injured. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper First Class Craig Engler investigated the collision. The Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
