Two Vehicle Injury Collision at Intersection of KY 189 & Old KY 6115

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred at the intersection of KY 189 (Everly Brothers Boulevard) and Old KY 6115, in Central City, on Wednesday, February 11, at 2:50 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Patricia Jones, 58, of Greenville, was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Impala southbound on KY 189 (Everly Brothers Boulevard). Bobbi Duncan, 24, of Browder, was operating a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. Ms. Duncan was attempting to make a left turn from Old KY 6115 onto KY 189 northbound. Ms. Duncan failed to yield the right of way, and pulled into the path of Ms. Jones' vehicle. The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway.

Ms. Jones, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported via a privately-owned vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. There were no passengers in her vehicle.

Ms. Duncan, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. One of her passengers, Skylar Shanks, 21, of Central City, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Shanks was wearing a seatbelt. The other passenger, Justin Perales, 20, of Central City, sustained a minor injury, but was not transported. Mr. Perales was not wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper First Class Craig Engler investigated the collision. The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, the Central City Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
