One Killed in a Collision on US 68 in Trigg County

(HICKORY, KY.) - Mrs. Linda Caldwell was traveling US 68 near the 21 mile marker she attempted to turn across going north bound. The driver of unit 2, Mr. Shannon Burcham was east bound on US 68. Mr. Burcham struck the rear drivers side of Mrs. Caldwell's. The car came to final rest in the median and Mr. Burcham brought his vehicle to a controlled stop on the side of the road still east bound.

Mrs. Caldwell was air lifted from the scene by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Rebecca Reddick was also airlifted by Air Evac and taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. A third passenger, Sarah Reddick, also 13 years of age, was partially ejected out the rear window and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Trigg County Coroner. The driver of unit 2, Mr. Burcham was not injured.

Next of kin were notified by the Trigg County Coroner. The investigation is continuing by KSP. Trooper Jody Cash was assisted on scene by Trigg County Sheriff's Department, Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County EMS, Trigg County Coroner, Trigg County Rescue, Cadiz Fire Department and the State Highway Department.
