KSP Works Injury Collision in Trigg County

(Cadiz, KY) – The Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle collision on September 2, 2015 at approximately 06:31 A.M. The collision occurred on US 68-80 at the intersection of Interstate 24 north of Cadiz, KY.
Delroy Gouldbourne, 58 of Rock Hill, SC was operating a 2004 Freightliner semi truck, pulling a loaded box trailer. Gouldbourne had exited I-24 at the 65 MM and was attempting to cross US 68-80 and re-enter I-24. Preliminary investigation shows that Gouldbourne failed to yield the right away at the stop sign and continued going straight across US 68-80. Amber N. Ryan, 20 of Cadiz, KY was traveling east on US 68-80 in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala. Ryan was not able to stop in time after Gouldbourne had pulled out in front of her. Ryan collided with the front of the semi trailer.
Ryan was flown to Skyline Medical in Nashville, TN due to her injuries and remains in stable condition. Ryan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Gouldbourne and his passenger Roberta W. Gouldbourne, 61 of Charlotte, NC were not injured in the collision.
Officer Mark Townsend, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, issued Gouldbourne a citation for hours of service for drivers, and parts needed for safe operation (had a flat inner tire) and was placed out of service for 10 hours due to being over his driving hour limit.
Advanced Collision Reconstrutionist Trooper Jody Cash was assisted on the scene by the Trigg County Sheriff's Office, Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County Fire-Rescue Squad, Trigg County Ambulance Service, and Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. Trooper Cash is continuing his investigation into the collision.
