Two Injured in a Collision on the William Natcher Parkway

(Henderson, KY) - On September 22, 2015 at approximately 3:57 PM Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson was notified of a two vehicle accident with injuries on the William Natcher Parkway. Upon investigation at the scene it was determined that Patricia Simmons, of Bushland Potter, TX, was operating a Green 1997 Ford F-150 traveling south on the William Natcher Parkway. Ms. Simmons merged over to the left lane in front of a semi truck operated by Eric W. Dwenger of Metamora, IN who was also traveling south. Ms. Simmons was attempting to make an illegal U-turn by turning left into a turnabout on the parkway, but was struck in the rear while making the left turn. The impact caused Ms. Simmons vehicle to strike a guardrail before coming to a stop. Ms. Simmons was transported to Owensboro Heath Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The William Natcher Parkway was closed for a short period of time while units that responded cleared the accident.
