Kentucky State Police Post 14 Receives Crime Scene Vehicle
Date of News Release: 06/16/2015
(Ashland, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police in Post 14 in Ashland, Ky. received a new vehicle last week that will allow officers to process crime scenes more quickly. Captain James Stephens picked up the Ford Super Duty Truck from KSP Commissioner Rodney Brewer and Lt. Col. Jack Miniard. The truck is equipped with a utility bed and all the tools necessary to process a crime scene, including evidence gathering supplies. The truck's evidence supplies include trace evidence analysis and a latent fingerprint processing machine which will cut down on time needed to process a crime scene. KSP says the funds to purchase the truck were acquired from their asset forfeiture fund, an account that is derived from the confiscation or seizure of items from criminal investigations.
