Update: Perry County Man Shot in the Face during Altercation

(Hazard, KY) - A man shot during an altercation late Tuesday evening in Perry County has died. Officials with Pikeville Medical Center contacted Kentucky State Police Post 13 around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday evening, advising that Robert Earl Miller had succumbed to the injuries he incurred from the altercation.
Due to this development, the original warrant for Assault 1st Degree was been recalled. A warrant has now been issued for James D. Brewer for one count of Murder. James Brewer remains at large, and is still considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of James Brewer is urged to contact KSP Post 13 at 606-435-6069.

Perry County Man Shot in the Face during Altercation

(Ary, KY) - A Perry County man remains hospitalized after being shot in the face by another man late Tuesday evening. Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 were dispatched to a residence on Coates Branch Road, in the Ary community of Perry County, after dispatchers received a call advising that someone had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located Robert Earl Miller of Ary, lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to the face. Investigators were advised that he had been in an altercation with James D. Brewer, age 61 of Ary, when Brewer shot Robert Miller. James Brewer fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. Robert Miller was transported to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. His condition is unknown at this time. Troopers searched the area but were unable to locate James Brewer.
An arrest warrant was obtained for James D. Brewer for Assault 1st degree. He is described as being a white male, approximately five feet nine inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair, and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information concerning the location of James Brewer should contact KSP Post 13 at 606-435-6069.
