Domestic Dispute Leaves Perry County Man Dead

(Chavies, KY) - A domestic dispute between a husband and wife late Monday evening has left a Perry County man dead. Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard were dispatched to a residence on Docs Branch Lane in the Chavies community in response to a call of a gunshot victim. The call was placed around 9:28 p.m.

Investigators located the caller, Novalene Miller of Chavies, who had advised dispatchers that she and her husband, 59 year old Eddie Miller also of Chavies, had been involved in a physical altercation. She further advised investigators that as the altercation continued, Eddie Miller produced a firearm that they began struggling over. The firearm discharged, fatally wounding Eddie Miller, whose body was located at this home. The Perry County Coroner's office responded to the residence and pronounced Eddie Miller deceased at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort later today. Charges have not been filed at this time concerning this incident, which remains under investigation by Detective Randy Combs with KSP Post 13.
