Homicide Arrest: Kentucky State Police Investigate Five Vehicle Fatality

(Shelbyville, KY.) - A black 2007 Peterbuilt, operated by Miroslav Kuzmanovic, age 22, of Lakewood, WA, rear ended a black 2006 Chevrolet HHR, operated by Doris E. Wise, age 71, of Louisville, KY. The vehicle burst into flames due to the force of the impact. The Chevrolet struck a 2001 International Truck, operated by Roger D. Barnes, age 52, of Irvine, KY. The International Truck struck a white 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by David J. Corsaro, age 40, of Putnam, WV. The Chevrolet Equinox struck a black 2008 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Terry Vutterly, age 54, and passenger, Christopher Vutterly, age 31, both of Barbourville, KY.

Doris E. Wise was pronounced deceased at the scene by Shelby County Coroner's Office. David Corsaro, Terry Vutterly and Christopher Vutterly were transported to Shelbyville Jewish Hospital, where they were treated and released.

Miroslav Kuzmanovic was arrested and charged with Reckless Homicide (1 count), Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree (4 counts), Communication Device Violation, 1st Offense, Violation Part 392 Federal Safety Regulation-Driving of Motor Vehicle. Kuzmanovic was transported to Shelbyville Detention Center where he is being held without bond.

The investigation is continuing.

Kentucky State Police Investigate Five Vehicle Fatality

Date of News Release: 05/13/2015

(Shelbyville, KY.) - Kentucky State Police Post 12, Frankfort, is investigating a five vehicle fatality which occurred on I6412W at the 35mile marker, Shelby County.

Preliminary reports indicate the five vehicles were traveling westbound on I64. When traffic slowed due to a motorist assist, a tractor trailer truck failed to slow, striking a passenger car in its pathway. The chain reaction resulted in damage to three other vehicles.

Three persons were transported to Shelbyville Jewish Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle struck by the tractor trailer was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner's Office.

Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by Shelbyville Fire, Shelbyville EMS, Shelbyville Police, Shelby County Disaster Emergency Services, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Shelby County Coroner's Office, and Kentucky Department of Transportation. The KSP Accident Reconstruction team is working the accident. The investigation is on going at this time.
