Georgetown Man Struck By KSP Cruiser As He Fled From Officers

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) - On March 09, 2015 at approximately 4:54 pm, Kentucky State Police attempted to serve multiple warrants on a Georgetown man. As KSP Units pulled into the parking lot of the subject's apartment, the subject fled on foot, into the street, colliding with an oncoming Kentucky State Police cruiser.
Derek L. Whitlock, age 35, Georgetown, KY, was transported to University of Kentucky Hospital by Scott County EMS where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. In addition to charges for multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants, Whitlock is charged with Fleeing and Evading 2nd and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.
Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by Georgetown Police Department and Scott County EMS.
The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
