Drug Arrest in Rowan County

(Morehead, KY) - On Tuesday July 29, 2014 Kentucky State Police Morehead received information of a suspicious package from the United States Postal Service being delivered to Morehead, KY from the state of California. The package was believed to contain illegal quantities of drugs. Subsequent to investigation on July 30, 2014, a controlled delivery to Thomas Terry at 225 Dillon Lane was completed in which Mr. Terry took possession of the package. When questioned, Mr. Terry denied ownership of the package. A search warrant was then obtained for the package as well at Mr. Terry's residence. Execution of the search warrant on the delivered package resulted in approximately 2 pounds of processed marijuana and a quantity of hash oil. Upon further search of the residence, approximately 3 pounds of processed marijuana was also located along with an unknown quantity of hash oil, drug paraphernalia and 7500 dollars in cash. Mr. Terry has been taken into custody and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana, greater than 5 pounds, Possession of Controlled Substance, LSD, Possession of Controlled Substance, Hallucinogens and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Terry has been lodged at the Rowan County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
