KSP Post 8 Most Wanted Arrest

(Owingsville, KY) - On June 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Kentucky State Police Master Trooper Joe Veeneman arrested John F. Wells formerly of Sharpsburg, KY and charged him with two counts of Sexual Abuse First Degree. The charges are the result of an investigation from 2006 in which Wells, 56, was accused of sexually abusing a victim under the age of 12. The investigation was presented to the Bath County Grand Jury in November of 2006 and an indictment was returned for the charges. Wells fled the Commonwealth and was on KSP Post 8 Most Wanted List. With the help of the United States Marshals Service and the Hocking County (OH) Sheriff's Office, Wells was located and apprehended in Loganville, OH on June 6, 2014 and waived extradition to Kentucky. The case remains under investigation by Master Trooper Veeneman.
