Bath County Injury Collision on I-64

(Morehead, KY) - On January 02, 2014 at 04:12 P.M. Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service in reference to a two vehicle injury accident on Interstate 64 at the 119 mile marker. Trooper Scott Ferrell, Bath County Fire and Rescue and Bath County EMS responded to the scene. Francis Weider, 68, of Maryville Tennessee was traveling westbound on Interstate 64 in a 2000 Dodge Durango when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median and struck a 2014 Volvo tanker truck, operated by Anthony Richmond, 48, of Vanceburg. Mr. Weider was treated on scene and transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Mount Sterling and later transferred to University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Weider is listed in critical condition and Mr. Richmond was treated on scene and released. Interstate 64 east bound was closed for several hours and has since been reopened. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Scott Ferrell.
