KSP Investigates Injury Collision in Madison County

(Richmond, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating an injury collision that occurred yesterday, May 26th, at approximately 7:25 pm EDT. The collision happened on I-75 South, near the 73 mile marker in Madison County. The initial investigation has revealed that Brandy E. Compton, 36 years old of Monticello, KY, was operating a White 2003 GMC Yukon traveling south on I-75. Compton lost control of her vehicle and it collided with the median wall. The vehicle overturned causing Compton to be ejected. She was transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. There were not any passengers in the vehicle and speed appears to be a factor. It does not appear that Compton was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision.
Trooper Kenneth Sandusky is the investigating officer and was assisted at the scene by KSP Post 7 Personnel, Berea Police Department, Madison County EMS, and Madison County Fire & Rescue.
