(Dry Ridge, KY) - At 1438 hours (2:38 p.m.) on January 9, 2014 the Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge received a call of a attempt to locate from Florence Police, reference an armed robbery at Spring Leaf Financial. A witness observed a dark colored Chevrolet Monte Carlo leaving the scene. At 1457 hours (2:57 p.m.) Trooper Chris Marcum observed a vehicle matching the description traveling south bound around mile marker 148 in Grant County. He activated his emergency equipment and the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle continued south bound to the 144 mile marker cross over and turned north bound. They lost control of the vehicle at mile marker 154 and struck a tractor trailer in the passenger side. The vehicle came to rest over a embankment off the right side of the interstate and two of the three males exited the vehicle and ran on foot. They were apprehended by Grant County Sheriff's deputies near US 25 without incident. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody from the vehicle. All three of the males are being charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree. Trooper Marcum has charged the driver with Driving Under The Influence and the two passengers are charged with Public Intoxication. The driver of the semi was not injured. The names of the three individuals are not being released until a positive identification can be made, they had no identification on them at time of arrest. The three individuals were transported the the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County for minor injures from the collision. They will be housed at the Grant County Detention Center. Florence Police department is investigating the robbery in Florence.
