One Dead, One Critically Injured in I-65 Crash

(GLENDALE, KY.) - Kentucky State Police Post 04 Troopers worked a three vehicle fatal accident on Southbound I-65 at the 85 mile marker on Sunday, May 25, 2014. The accident occurred at approximately 1:20 P.M. EST just south of the Glendale exit. Miranda M. Flowers (42) and her husband, Gerald Flowers Jr. (43) both of Darden, Tn. were traveling Southbound on their Harley Davidson Motorcycles when for unknown reasons traffic began to slow. Miranda Flowers and Gerald Flowers both attempted to swerve right to avoid hitting a Ford Expedition being driven by Angela J. Mitchell (33) of Louisville, Ky. Miranda Flowers struck the rear of the Expedition driven by Angela Mitchell causing her to overturn. Gerald Flowers Jr., who was also trying to avoid the vehicle swerved right and struck the motorcycle driven by his wife. He was then ejected from the motorcycle he was operating. Miranda Flowers was pronounced dead on the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner. Gerald Flowers Jr. was airlifted to UL Hospital and is listed in critical condition. Angela Mitchell was uninjured. The KSP was assisted on the scene by the Hardin Co. S.O., Hardin Co. EMS, Glendale Fire Dept., and the State Highway Dept.
