Pursuit Leads to Two Collisions in Simpson County

(Bowling Green, KY) - On Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at approximately 5:16 P.M. Trooper Jason Lanham, was dispatched to an injury collision on Gold City Road in Simpson County, Kentucky. The collision was a result of a vehicle pursuit that was initiated by the Simpson County Sheriff's Department. Simpson County Deputy Joey Johnson was on a traffic stop on E. Cedar St in Franklin.
While attempting to arrest the operator of the vehicle Scott Page (42) of Franklin, KY for several active felony warrants. Mr. Page took off in his 2000 Subaru Outback. Deputy Johnson, chased after the vehicle for approximately 1 mile before Mr. Page lost control of his vehicle on a hill crest on Gold City Road. Deputy Johnson was approximately 1/2 mile behind Mr. Page when the collision occurred. Mr. Page attempted to pass another vehicle on a hillcrest when he lost control. Mr. Page ran off the roadway, struck a tree and over turned. Mr. Page was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected as a result of the collision. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor; however the collision was the result of high speed.
Mr. Page was transported by Air Evac to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN with multiple injuries. Mr. Page is believed to be in stable condition at this time.
A secondary collision occurred when Franklin PD Officer Chad Moody was responding to assist in the pursuit. Officer Moody was responding with his emergency equipment activated when he topped the same hillcrest and side swiped another motorist who had pulled off to the edge of the roadway because of the first collision. Officer Moody was driving his issued marked 2013 Ford Interceptor. After side swiping a 2007 Nissan Xterra operated by Kimberly Sliger of Franklin, Officer Moody traveled off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway and came to rest in the ditch. Neither Officer Moody nor Mrs. Sliger was injured in the collision.
The investigation is still ongoing is being led by Trooper Jason Lanham. Trooper Lanham was assisted by Simpson County Sheriff's Officer, Franklin Police Department, Simpson County EMS and Simpson County Fire Dept. all assisted at the scene.
