Continuing Investigation Leads To Felony Drug Arrest

Madisonville, KY. (Hopkins County) - A continuing investigation by the Kentucky State Police resulted in the arrest of two individuals on drug-related charges.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2014, Trooper Bob Winters was following up on a drug investigation that originated at the Executive Pennyrile Inn located in Mortons Gap. The investigation led Trooper Winters to the Big Springs Inn in Madisonville where he arrested Derek L. Harr and Norma J. Lantrip at approximately 10:54 a.m.

Trooper Winters charged the individuals as follows:

Derek L. Harr, 34, of Madisonville, KY

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth (2 counts)
  2. Possession of Marijuana
  3. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Norma J. Lantrip, 19, of Madisonville, KY

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth (2 counts)
  2. Possession of Marijuana
  3. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Both subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.

The Madisonville Police Department and the Hopkins County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.

Felony Drug Arrest

Date of News Release: 10/28/2014

Mortons Gap, KY. (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police arrested two individuals on drug related charges.

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at approximately 11:33 a.m., Trooper Bob Winters arrived at the Executive Pennyrile Inn, located in Mortons Gap, to follow up on a complaint from the previous evening.

While there, Trooper Winters observed a subject remove items from his clothing and drop it on the walkway. The subject, identified as Jonah Mills, was detained by Trooper Winters. Located inside the room where Mr. Mills was staying was suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, syringes, and pipes. A female, identified as Brittany Watkins, was also in the room.

Trooper Winters arrested both subjects.

Jonah M. Mills, 30, of Manitou, KY, was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth
  2. Possession of Marijuana
  3. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  4. Tampering with Physical Evidence

Brittany L. Watkins, 30, of White Plains, KY, was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth
  2. Possession of Marijuana
  3. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Both subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
