Search Warrant Leads To Drug Arrests

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police arrested two Muhlenberg County residents for drug-related offenses after executing a search warrant.

On Thursday, June 19, 2014, at approximately 6:41 p.m., KSP Troopers Jon McGehee and Jacob Fortney, along with KSP Sergeant Tim Sales, Muhlenberg County Sheriffs Department, and the Central City Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on West Reservoir in Central City. Upon executing the search warrant marijuana, prescription medication, methamphetamine, and items used to distribute controlled substances were located.

Trooper Jon McGehee charged the following individuals:

Erica Smith, 26, of Central City, KY

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense- Meth
  2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  3. Trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 oz) 1st offense
  4. Illegal Possession of Legend Drug
  5. Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree – Drug Unspecified
  6. Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Offense

Carl Belcher, 48, of Central City, KY

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense – Meth
  2. Trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 oz) 1st offense
  3. Illegal Possession of Legend Drug
  4. Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree – Drug Unspecified
  5. Possession Controlled Substance 2nd Degree – Drug Unspecified
  6. Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Offense
  7. Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change

Both individuals were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail. Trooper McGehee is continuing the investigation.
