Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on US 68/80

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 68/80 at KY 475, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 4:50 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Ashley Rives, 21, of Russellville, KY, was operating a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on KY 475. Ms. Rives crossed US 68/80, failing to yield to on-coming traffic, and was struck by Kimberly Harrell, 30, of Hopkinsville, KY, who was operating a 1999 Dodge Durango eastbound on US 68/80.

Ms. Rives was transported via ambulance to Logan Memorial Hospital and Ms. Harrell was transported via ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper Luis Palmer investigated the collision. Todd County EMS and Fairview Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
