Two Vehicle Injury Collision On Cleaton Road

Powderly, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Cleaton Road on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 8:29 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Brandon Wynn, 27, of Browder, KY, was operating a 2001 Mercury Sable westbound on Cleaton Road. Willie Parker, 69, of Cleaton, KY, was operating a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria eastbound on Cleaton Road. As the vehicles approached one another, Mr. Wynn's vehicle crossed into the path of Mr. Parker's vehicle. Mr. Wynn's vehicle sideswiped Mr. Parker's vehicle. Mr. Wynn continued traveling westbound.

Mr. Wynn was located in the parking lot of Todd's Furniture and arrested. Trooper Jerry Knight charged him with the following offenses:

  1. Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to Render Aid (D Felony)
  2. Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change (B Misdemeanor)

Mr. Wynn was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

Mr. Wynn was not injured. Mr. Parker was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital where he was treated and released. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper Jerry Knight investigated the collision. Trooper Craig Engler, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, the Powderly Police Department, the Greenville Police Department, the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted.
