Three-Vehicle Injury Collision on US 41A

Nebo, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a three-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 41A, approximately three miles south of Nebo, on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 11:19 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jason Hutchinson, 43 of Madisonville, KY, was operating a 2004 Honda VTX1300 motorcycle southbound on US 41A when he lost control of the motorcycle entering a curve. The vehicle crossed over the center line and sideswiped a 2008 Freightliner being operated northbound by Brandon S Austin, 27, of Madisonville, KY. Mr. Hutchinson then continued on and struck a 2002 GMC Sierra being operated by Larry B Ayres, 60, of Princeton, KY. Mr. Hutchinson then crossed the southbound lane, exiting the shoulder and coming to final rest off the southbound shoulder.
Mr. Hutchinson was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. Mr. Hutchinson was not wearing s helmet at the time of the collision. There were no passengers involved. Mr. Ayres was also transported to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. Mr. Ayres was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. There were no passengers involved.
Trooper Nathan Craft investigated the collision. The Nebo Rescue Squad and Providence Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
