KSP Investigating Theft Of Equipment

Jewel City, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating the theft of equipment belonging to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
On Friday, April 11, 2014, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the KSP Post 2 Madisonville was contacted by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KTC) in reference to a theft. The KTC had placed two, temporary traffic signals along KY 281, approximately two miles south of Jewel City, that were providing traffic control due to a roadway collapse. Locks on the panels of the two traffic signals were cut and communication equipment from both signals was stolen, rendering both signals inoperable.
