ATV Injury Collision on Neisz Road

Dawson Springs, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated an ATV injury collision that occurred on Neisz Road on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 1:14 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Tiffany Fletcher, 30, of Providence, KY, was operating a Honda Rancher ATV westbound on Neisz Road. Ms. Fletcher stated that the throttle became stuck, causing the ATV to accelerate to a high rate of speed. Ms. Fletcher lost control of the ATV and left the roadway, striking a tree stump. Ms. Fletcher and her passenger, Ricky Vickery, 46, of Princeton, KY, were ejected from the ATV.

Ms. Fletcher was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. Mr. Vickery was not injured. Ms. Fletcher and Mr. Vickery were not wearing helmets.

Trooper Jonathan Murphy investigated the collision. Charleston Fire Department and Med Center EMS assisted at the scene.
