Search Warrant Leads To Drug Arrest

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged two individuals with drug-related offenses after executing a search warrant.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Trooper Jeff McWhorter, Trooper Jacob Fortney, and Sergeant Tim Sales executed a search warrant at the Bryan Hill Apartments located on West Reservoir Avenue in Central City. Upon executing the search warrant, troopers located approximately three grams of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Tpr. McWhorter arrested Nicholes D. Shanks, 23, of Central City, KY, and Josie A. Dunlap, 22, of Central City, KY. Both subjects were charged with the following offenses:
- Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth (C Felony)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (A Misdemeanor)
Mr. Shanks and Ms. Dunlap were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department and the Central City Police Department assisted.
