Dawson Springs, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged a Dawson Springs man with offenses related to child exploitation after conducting an investigation.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at approximately 9:27 a.m., KSP Detective Dan Morck executed an arrest warrant on Daniel M. Adcock, 33, of Dawson Springs, KY, at his residence on Sixth Vein Road. Mr. Adcock was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Possession of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor
  2. Unlawful Use of Electronic Means to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity or Other Prohibited Activities

Both charges are class D felonies. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.

Mr. Adcock was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation that began in February of 2014. The KSP and the Madisonville Police Department began a joint investigation after the MPD received a complaint from the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children. The complaint involved the accused using the Internet to solicit children for explicit photos and sexual performances.

Prior to the arrest, electronic equipment used to facilitate the offense had been seized and forensically examined.

The investigation is continuing by Detective Morck and MPD Detective Bob Couchman. Trooper Bob Winters assisted with the arrest.
