Dawson Springs Couple Arrested On Drug Charges

Dawson Springs, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police has arrested a Dawson Springs couple on drug-related charges.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, the Kentucky State Police received a tip of drug activity at a residence on Racetrack Road in Dawson Springs. At approximately 8:17 p.m., troopers arrived at the residence and were granted consent to search. Their investigation led to the discovery of multiple drugs and drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation, troopers discovered two children were also present at the residence.
Arrested at the scene were Alan R. Giffin, 34, and his wife, Stephanie R. Giffin, 28, both of Dawson Springs, KY. Trooper Joseph Bartolotti charged the couple with the following offenses:
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense - Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense - Methamphetamine
- Endangering the Welfare of a Minor
Mr. and Mrs. Giffin were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
The investigation is continuing by Trooper Bartolotti. He was assisted at the scene by Trooper Nathan Craft, Trooper Jonathan Ward, and Sergeant Daniel White.
