Motorist Assist Leads to Felony Drug Arrest

Princeton, KY (Caldwell County) - The Kentucky State Police arrested a Fredonia man on drug and traffic charges.
On Sunday, February 9, 2014, at approximately 3:51 p.m., Trooper First Class Chris King stopped to render aid to a motorist northbound on Interstate 69 at approximately the 78 mile-marker. The motorist, Mark D. Baize, 48, of Fredonia, KY, had lost a tire to the trailer he was pulling behind his pickup truck.
During the motorist assist, Mr. Baize granted consent to search his vehicle. TFC King located suspected methamphetamine inside Mr. Baize's pickup truck. Mr. Baize was arrested without incident and charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense - Meth
- Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change
- No Registration Plate
He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
