Escape 2nd Degree Arrest

Greenville, KY. (Muhlenberg County) - On 01-11-2014, the Kentucky State Police received a call from the Muhlenberg County Detention Center of an inmate that had failed to return from work release. Upon investigation, it was determined that the inmate, Kristopher D. Newman, had failed to return to the Detention Center after completing his work release detail. During the investigation it was learned that he was operating a Red Dodge Truck.

At approximately 12:12 P.M., Trooper Bob Winters located the vehicle in question traveling on the Pennyrile Parkway, at the Morton's Gap exit. Trooper Winter''s conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and Mr. Newman was driving the vehicle.

Newman was arrested without incident and taken back to the Muhlenberg County Detention Center by the case officer, Trooper Jerry Knight. Trooper Winters was assisted at the scene by Lt. Brenton Ford, Det. Dan Morck, and Trooper Luis Palmer.
