McCracken County Jail Escapee Apprehended

)Paducah, KY) - On November 29th, Kentucky State Police received a report from McCracken County Jail advising that one of their inmates, Bobby Whitis, had fled from custody. Whitis was being transported back to the jail from a work detail when he fled some where between Walter Jetton and Adams Street. Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation and subject was apprehended at the Budget Inn on HC Mathis Drive in Paducah. Additionally, through the investigation, it was determined that Janet Cooper and Grant Crume aided Whitis in escaping custody. Whitis was charged with escape 2nd degree, and receiving stolen property under $500 dollars. Cooper was charged with complicity to escape 2nd degree and receiving stolen property under $500. Crume was charged with complicity to escape 2nd degree. All subjects were lodged at the McCracken County Jail. Kentucky State Police was assisted by McCracken County Jail, McCracken County Sheriff's Department, Paducah Police Department, and the Marshall Sheriff's Office.
