KSP Arrest Drunk Driver out of Vehicle Collision in Marshall County

(Gilbertsville, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle collision on Gilbertsville Road, Tuesday evening at approximately 9:00 P.M. Preliminary investigation shows that James A. Campbell, 42 of Gilbertsville, was traveling westbound on Gilbertsville Road in a 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck. For an unknown reason, Mr. Campbell lost control of his vehicle and ran off the roadway, in an attempt to regain control; Mr. Campbell overcorrected and went down an embankment striking a tree. Mr. Campbell was taken to the Marshall County emergency room, where he was treated and released for minor injuries. Mr. Campbell was then arrested for DUI 2nd offense aggravated circumstances, Driving on a DUI Suspended License, and No Seatbelt. Mr. Campbell was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
Trooper Gerick Sullivan was assisted on the scene by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, and the Marshall County EMS. Trooper Sullivan is continuing his investigation.
