KSP arrests three individuals on drug related charges in Trigg County

Drug that were found during the search of the car

(Cadiz, KY) - The Kentucky State Police stopped a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 24, Thursday morning at approximately 11:17 A.M. for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Trooper TJ Williams observed several indicators of criminal activities. Trooper Brad Ramsey and his K9 Partner Oscar arrived on scene while a citation was being issued to the driver. A search of the vehicle was conducted after a K9 indicated on the vehicle. During the search, Troopers located 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine and 5 grams of marijuana along with $423 in cash.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot after the drugs were located, but the Troopers were able to capture him after a short foot pursuit. Marcos Meza-Carmona, 27 of Omaha, NE was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree/First Offense > 2 grams meth (Class C Felony), and Fleeing and Evading Police Second Degree on foot (Class A Misdemeanor), in addition to failure to wear a seat belt, and no operator's license. Raul T. Shaec, 21 of Omaha, NE was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree/First Offense > 2 grams meth (Class C Felony), and Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor). Carmona Maza, 24 of Palatine, IL was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree/First Offense > 2 grams meth (Class C Felony). All three were lodged in the Christian County Detention Facility.

KSP was assisted on the scene by the Cadiz Police Department. The investigation continues by Trooper TJ Williams.
