UPDATE: Washington County Death Investigation

Date of News Release: 08/27/2014

(Springfield, KY.) - The State Medical Examiner's office has identified the body as that of 20-year-old Thomas Ray Pendygraft of Loretto, KY. The positive identification was made through DNA testing. The burned vehicle, Pendygraft was found in, was a 2009 Dodge that belonged to his father, Larry Pendygraft, also of Loretto.

UPDATE: Washington County Death Investigation

(Springfield, KY.) - The preliminary autopsy result revealed that the body found in the vehicle was a male but the cause of death and identity of the male are still to be determined. The autopsy was performed at the State Medical Examiner's office in Louisville. No additional details are being released regarding the ongoing investigation.

Washington County Death Investigation

Date of News Release: 08/01/2014

(Springfield, KY.) - Post 15 is investigating a car fire that occurred in the parking lot of the Springfield Reservoir on Booker Road in Washington County early this morning. Washington County dispatch notified KSP at 7:48 AM EDT and stated that a Washington County Sheriff's Deputy was on the scene and a body was inside the car. Investigators have yet to determine the identity of the individual or the cause of the fire. Detectives are continuing to investigate.
