Russell County Shooting Investigation

(Jamestown, KY.) - Post 15 received a call today (05/26/2014) from the Russell County dispatch at approximately 4:53 AM CST regarding a shooting that occurred at 150 Murray Rd. in Jamestown. 37-year-old Trenni D. Chaney, of Jamestown, waved a handgun and fired a shot striking a vehicle occupied by 43-year-old Steven Pigman, of Somerset. Pigman, who was sitting in the car, in a lot by the residence, retrieved a shotgun from within the car and returned fire through the windshield, striking Chaney. Chaney was transported to the hospital and then flown to U.K. Medical Center where he remains in stable condition. Chaney and Pigman both live at the residence. One other person was at the residence but was not involved in the altercation. No arrests were made and the results of the ongoing investigation will be presented to the Russell County Grand Jury at a later date.
