(LEBANON, KY) - Preliminary autopsy report indicates that both victims died as a result of smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still undetermined.

(LEBANON, KY) - The two victims have been identified as 60-year-old Thomas Wayne Cundiff and his wife, 71-year-old Mary Rose Cundiff of Holy Cross, KY.

Two Died in a Residential Fire in Marion County

Date of News Release: 01/06/2014

(LEBANON, KY) - Post 15 received a call this morning at 6:07 AM EDT from Marion County 911 requesting assistance with a fire investigation. Multiple fire departments responded from Marion and Nelson County to a residential fire at 6310 Holy Cross Road that was called in to Marion County 911 at approximately 3:36 AM EDT. The fire was extinguished but the residence, a mobile home, was a complete loss.

The investigation also revealed that 1 male and 1 female died in the fire. The identities of the deceased have not been positively confirmed and may not be released until after the completion of the autopsies.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined but no foul play is expected. Arson Investigator Alex Wesley and Detective Mike Dubree are investigating.
