Wanted Fugitive from St. Louis, Missouri Arrested in Boyd County

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police have arrested a St. Louis, Missouri resident on several charges.
On December 22, 2014 The St. Louis Police Department contacted the Kentucky State Police Post 14 and advised their agency was currently investigating a murder in the St. Louis area. The suspect, Melkis Oreyana, had been tracked to an area near I64 and KY 180 (Exit 191). A vehicle description was also provided at the time the incident was reported. Troopers responded to the area and were able to locate Oreyana. A traffic stop was conducted and Oreyana was arrested without incident.
On December 22, 2014 Melkis Oreyana, age 26, of St. Louis, MO, was arrested, lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center and charged with:
- Execution of Warrant for Another Police Agency (Murder)
- No Operators License
- Failure to Wear Seat belts
- Failure to Produce Insurance Card
- Giving Police Officer False Name or Address
The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Eric Gibson.
