Felony Arrest (Cultivating and Trafficking Marijuana) - Boyd County

(Ashland, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested a Boyd County, KY resident after locating numerous mature marijuana plants growing at a residence on Jacks Fork in the Rush community.
On October 8, 2014 the Kentucky State Police Aircraft Section visually located numerous mature marijuana plants growing at a Jacks Fork residence. An investigation began and several pounds of processed marijuana were also located at the residence. The total value of the plants and processed marijuana is valued in excess of $123,000.00.
On October 8, 2014 Norman W. Vanderpool, age 47, of Rush, KY was arrested and lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
He has been charged with:
- Cultivate Marijuana (5 Plants or More) 1st Offense
- Trafficking in Marijuana (< 5 Pounds) 1st Offense
Kentucky State Police Aircraft Section, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and Trooper Eric Gibson assisted with the investigation.
The case remains under investigation by Trooper First Class Craig Morella.
