Knott County Subway Robbed at Gunpoint

(Mallie, KY) - The robbery of a Knott County business late Sunday evening has officers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 searching for an armed suspect. KSP Post 13 in Hazard received a call at approximately 9:30 p.m., from Hometown Subway, located in the Holly Hills Shopping Center in Mallie, advising that the store had been robbed by a subject armed with a gun.
Troopers and detectives with KSP Post 13 responded to the scene where they contacted the victim. The initial investigation into this incident revealed that a white male subject entered Hometown Subway, armed with a handgun, demanding money. Once money was obtained by the perpetrator, he took control of the business phones and the employee's personal cell phone before fleeing out the back door of the store on foot, with no known direction of travel. He is described as a white male, approximately six feet three to six feet six inches tall, with a slender build. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt, jeans, a black stocking over his head, and bags covering his shoes.
