Post 12 Honors Three Fallen Troopers

(Frankfort, KY) - On Tuesday, May 13, 2013 at 4:00 P.M., Post 12 will honor Trooper Harold J. Toll, Trooper Bobby McCoun and Trooper James W. McNeely. As a part of Police Memorial week the Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post will place wreaths in memory of three fallen Troopers. The memorials will begin at the Sand Springs Church in Lawrenceburg at 4:00 P.M.

The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post will join the family of Trooper Harold J. Toll for a memorial service at the Sand Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. A wreath will be placed at his grave site in Lawrenceburg, KY. In April, 2003, in honor of his services and sacrifice, a five mile section of US 127 Bypass in Anderson County was named in his honor and memory. On November 14, 1942 Trooper Toll, age 34, was killed in a traffic collision while in the line of duty in Anderson County.

The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post will join the family of Trooper Bobby McCoun for a memorial service at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. A wreath will be placed at his grave site in Lawrenceburg, KY. In April 2003, in honor of his services and sacrifice, a five mile section of US 127 Bypass in Anderson County was named in his honor and memory. On September 1, 1975 Trooper McCoun, age 23, was killed at the Pikeville Jail as a result of an accidental shooting while on duty in Pike County.

The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post will join the family of Trooper James McNeely for a memorial service at the Frankfort Post flag pole. A wreath will be placed at the Post 12 flag pole in Frankfort. On April 8th, 1972, Trooper James McNeely, age 37, drowned during a rescue mission on the Kentucky River in Franklin County. Trooper McNeely's body has never been located. Trooper McNeely was assigned to the Kentucky State Police Headquarters in Frankfort. Trooper McNeely was a native of Wingo, Kentucky. A portion of Highway 339 in Graves County is named in his honor and memory.
