Drug Arrest and Investigation in Rockcastle County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at approximately 5:17 PM the Kentucky State Police Post 11 Criminal Interdiction Team stopped a 1997 Dodge Minivan for a minor traffic violation on US 25 in Rockcastle County.
Detective Ryan Loudermilk determined that the driver, Shelly Lovell, 46, of Mount Vernon and passenger, William Brock, 40, of Mount Vernon were both extremely nervous and acted suspicious. During roadside questioning, Lovell continued to fidget and troopers believed that she was concealing narcotics. A female officer was requested to assist with a search. Lovell was found to be in possession of approximately two (2) ounces of crystal methamphetamine. Brock was found to be in possession of approximately one-half (1/2) ounce of crystal methamphetamine.
Lovell was arrested at the scene and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Disregarding a Traffic Controlled Device, Improper Turn and Careless Driving.
Brock was arrested at the scene and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree.
Detective Loudermilk is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by KSP SGT Lafe Owens, Trooper Eric Moore, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Landry Collett and Rockcastle County Deputy Jailer Martina Alcorn.
