Harlan County Collision

(Harlan, Ky.) - On August 18, 2014 at approximately 8:40 a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 10 in Harlan was notified of a possible injury collision on U S Highway 421 near the community of Cawood, Ky. When Master Trooper Michael H. Cornett arrived he discovered that a silver 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was owned and operated by Paula Cox, 52, of Evarts, KY was traveling South on U S 421 and ran off the roadway. The vehicle started to slide sideways then began to overturn. The vehicle flipped approximately 6-7 times and Mrs. Cox was ejected from the vehicle while her husband, Phillip Cox 47, of Evarts, KY remained in the vehicle. Both subjects were taken to the Harlan ARH for treatment. Mrs. Cox was later transferred to Holsten Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tn.
Mrs. Cox was cited to court for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs 1st offense.
