Drug arrest in Knox County

(Dewitt, Ky.) - On August 11, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a search warrant at the residence of Charles R. Smith, age 66 , from Blackberry Drive located in the Moores Creek Community of Knox County. KSP Troopers located 31 Suboxone strips, 1 and ½ grams of Marijuana, 7 and 1/2 Xanax's, 378 other prescription medications, three firearms, and approximately $803.00 during the search.
Mr. Smith was arrested and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. Mr. Smith was charged with the Following:
- Trafficking in controlled substance 2nd degree 1st offense
- Trafficking in controlled substance 3rd degree 1st offense
- Possession of Marijuana
- Drug Paraphernalia
- Illegal possession of legend drug
Two other individuals were arrested at the residence and charged with drug charges also. The case is still under investigation by Trp. Jason Partin.
