Double Fatality in Harlan County

(Bobs Creek, Ky.) - A single-vehicle collision has claimed the lives of two Harlan County residents.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the collision which occurred on Thursday, June 12, on KY 3001 in the community of Bob's Creek near Cawood, KY. The call was reported around 3:48 PM to KSP 911 center.
Troopers responded to the scene and found that a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, operated by Stephanie Fultz, age 30, of Cawood was traveling northbound on KY 3001. As the vehicle entered a curve, the operator lost control and careened off the roadway, striking two parked vehicles and a building before coming to final rest.
Ms. Fultz and her passenger, Rostin Bray III, age 37, of Cawood, were both pinned in the vehicle. Harlan County Rescue Squad and Martins Fork Fire Department were summoned to the scene to extricate the occupants from the vehicle. Lilfecare EMS transported both to the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital where they were pronounced dead by Harlan County Deputy Coroner, Jim Rich.
Kentucky State Police Collision Re-constructionist, Tpr. Kenneth Sergent, is in charge of the investigation. He was assisted by KSP Sgt. Jeremy Lee, troopers Jimmy Halcomb, Andy Soltess, Kevin Miller and Kenny Abner.
