Four arrested for Unlawful Imprisonment in Knox County

(Barbourville, Ky.) - On May 15, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call that a 12 year old boy had been tied up and held against his will at a neighbor's residence. Trooper Russell Maynard and Trooper Desmond Brittle responded to South Point Drive in Barbourville Ky.
Preliminary investigation indicates the 12 year old juvenile was at a nearby residence. While at the residence he was bound to a chair by several individuals. After a brief amount of time the juvenile was able to escape and return home. K.S.P. was contacted. Trooper Maynard arrested and charged the following individuals for Unlawful Imprisonment.
- Hunter West, 18, from Barbourville.
- Melissa Mills, 40, from Artemus.
- Edward Murphy, 36, from Barbourville.
- Sharon Newmon, 30, from Barbourville.
All four where lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. The juvenile received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. Case is still under investigation by Tpr. Maynard.
